Magical Wand [HOWTO]

Magical Wand is one of the most important tool in ceremonial magic.
Western tradition opinion is that Wand represent Magician’s will (θέλημα - thelema). It is continuation of the right hand, projection of will into world (Universe), symbol of power.

For Western occult rituals (as evocation), the best choice is the Wand of Tritemius or Wand from Greater Key of Solomon. Constructionaly (from technical side) both of them are the same. Wooden rod with sacred symbols. Solomon’s staff and wand have the same symbols and form of preparation.

“The Staff should be of elderwood, or cane, or rosewood; and the wand of hazel or nut tree, in all cases the wood being virgin, that is of one Year’s growth only. They should each be cut from the tree at a single stroke, on the day of Mercury, at sunrise. The characters shown should be written or engraved thereon in the day and hour of Mercury.

This being done, thou shalt say:

ADONAI, Most Holy, deign to bless and to consecrate this Wand, and this Staff,that they mav obtain the necessary virtue, through Thee, O Most Holy ADONAI,whose kingdom endureth unto the Ages of the Ages. Amen.

After having perfumed and consecrated them, put them aside in a pure and clean place for use when required.”(The Greater Key of Solomon).

The author of Key gave us simple and usefull way to prepare of Wand. But the symbols on it are hard to understand (probably it is an mix of magical alphabets). Some authors assosiate these symbols with another Wand's described by J.Trithemius.  

But this is unlikely. However Trithemius Wand became very popular and recommendable by occult authors. Instead of black ebony wood as material for it, we can use 'hazel or nut tree' as for Solomon wand. But what about symbols? AGLA  Western magick tradition in it's English school transcript this name as acronym of: ATA GIBOR LEOLAM ADONAY. Jewish tradion has addition transliteration withinitial letters of the second word of the first verse and the first words of the next three verses of Genesis 49:8-11. Besides, in ancient hebrew AGLA pronounces as AGaLA. So, it is preferable to write hebrew origin letters: אגלא Tetragrammaton This is greek name, that mean The-Four-Letter-Name. So, better to write hebrew orgin too. יהוה ON   Some occult authors try to write this Name in hebrew to, but it is incorrect. On - is greek name. You can find it on the greek and russian icons of Jesus. And meaning of the Name is the same as Eheye in hebrew. Septuagint (ancient greek translation of Hebrew text) version of Exodus 3:14: ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ὤν. So, you can engrave this name in greek: ΩN Or use hebrew equivalent - AHIH (Eheye) אהיה The back side of Trithemius Wand Engrave EGO ALPHA ET OMEGA or Greek original:
